“ Had a super fine man as my server (Nathan) he was super sweet and patient with me when I was ordering and guided me through the menu (as it was my first time) I tried the chicken tikka and it was pretty good, but just the experience with him was good enough for me to come back, 10/10 he deserves a raise. Made my day ”
“ AMAZING Indian food!! This place was recommended to us by a store down the street we were shopping at. 10/10 food. We will be back! ”
“ Went on a Thursday night and there was no wait at all. The servers were super attentive and explained the menu to us. I was kind of shocked by the price. All the food in the photo was only 50 bucks. The food is super solid. One of the better Indian food I've had in SoCal. Their chicken tikka was moist and the naan was fresh. The environment feels a bit fancier than just casual. I def recommend and will be back! ”
“ If you would like to learn more about the emperor read here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashoka If you would like to learn more about the symbol read here https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashoka_Chakra The restaurant Ashoka the Great Cuisine of India is on Pioneer which is the street in the city of Artesia running thru as a cultured pearl of Los Angeles' Little India. There are many restaurants and shops like jewelry for weddings stores here, as well as beauty shops and sari stores. The restaurant is amiable and as pleasing as their culinary delights. Samosas the size of softballs. Fried and stuffed in-house made cheese with chutney so savory it registers as meaty instead of the vegetarian offering that it actually is. Spicy lamb curry that doesn't burn your throat but makes a lasting impression hours later as so positive it aligns your chakras. A memory of fulfillment. Thank you to our main server for being so kind, with the assists from others who made sure our time was cherished as the food. There's chicken, shrimp, lamb, fish, vegetable, mushroom, goat dishes. But no beef. The cow, as sacred in India, is shown mercy and compassion. ”
“ Ambiance: Plenty of cozy seating inside and wonderful service. Taste test: Everything tasted good and fresh! Big portions. No complaints. It definitely hits the spot if you want some good chicken tikka and snack (samosa) type of food. ”
“ Ashoka the Great never misses! Seriously, every time I step in, it's like a mini food celebration. I've tackled almost the entire menu at this point, and let me tell you--there's not a single dish that's let me down. Among the champions? The Lamb Saag, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Tandoori. Each one is so good, it should come with a warning label. Tonight, I went all-in with the Ashoka Thali. Heard it's meant for two? Well, challenge accepted--I happily polished off every last bite myself, no regrets. And just when I think I'm full, there's the dessert. Their Indian rice pudding and Kulfi are the perfect sweet finale. Oh, and do yourself a favor: grab a Mango Lassi on your way out--seriously, it's bottled magic! Ashoka the Great, you'll see me again. And again. And again. ”
“ My new favorite spot for Indian food! I got the Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Vindaloo, and the Matar Paneer. All three were super flavorful and delicious. The garlic naan here was the best I have ever had. Definitely get that and the basmati rice with all the curries! ”
“ Gear up for food that is tasty and good wholesome Indian food. The food buffet is no longer offered. The service and space is excellent. I will always remember this location because it's the best tasting Indian food I've ever had bests home cooked. ”
“ If you're in the area, you absolutely must try this Indian restaurant! The taste and quality of their food are truly out of this world. The chai latte is perfectly spiced, the cheese naan is irresistibly cheesy and soft, and the butter chicken is rich and flavorful. The tandoori shrimp is another standout, with a perfect blend of spices and a smoky char that's simply divine. While the service could use some improvement, the incredible flavors more than make up for it. This place is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic and delicious Indian cuisine. ”
